Hopefully, you can be patient with my "senior" brain trying to master skills that it was not meant to know!! I think I'll get there eventually. Had to laugh when a former co-worker posted a picture of good ol' purple dittos today. Yeah! that was my "technology" too!! In the meantime, I hope our local folks have gotten over the surprise of our first little snow and the accompanying cold. It's a good day to take a look at the offerings on my SU website (peggyouten.stampinup.net)

Have you ever had a goal that you set for yourself and as the deadline loomed right ahead of you, you found yourself falling a bit short? Disappointing for sure. Tomorrow is the last day of Stampin' Up! Saleabration and I have not yet hit the mark I had set for myself. I'm close. Really close. I'm hoping some of my procrastinating friends will come forward and take advantage of this exciting offer of your choice of a free goodie for each $50 (subtotal) you spend from my Stampin' Up website (peggyouten.stampinup.net). The deadline is tomorrow, Tuesday, February 28th. Did you know that Stampin' UP! initially had a mini catalog of freebies but later added ten more choices to the freebie option? I myself have gotten several cool items...papers, punches, stamps. Fun! I have always felt that this is the very best time to get your cardstock - both colored and white - because you know you will eventually use it; you might as well get a free item too! Do you know that if you make a $50 subtotal purchase and earn a Saleabration reward, you will also get a mini card kit from me? In the kit are materials and directions to make three cards, with my thanks. Questions? just call me 410-256-6772.

Peggy

Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10744997329390605587noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1884345243102505192.post-14339149909947289222023-02-24T15:25:00.003-05:002023-02-24T15:25:52.041-05:00
New Stampin Opportunity!!! <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml>

I think we can all agree that the last couple of years have
forced many adjustments on us. Some changes have turned out somewhat
disappointing but many others have tapped our resourcefulness and creativity. I
have decided to try and make our getting together easier and more convenient so
here is my latest strategy. (Please note: I will still be conducting in person
classes for those who enjoy them as much as I do!)
On Sunday night, I will post on here a list of supplies needed to make a
mystery card, including measurements for each piece of cardstock or paper in
the project, along with the adhesives and tools needed to make the card. You
will cut the materials yourself and gather the tools, stamps and embellishments
from your own stash. You will not see my card at that time. We will meet via
zoom on Monday night at 8pm to actually make the card from step by step
directions I will prepare in advance. Because each of us is using our own
supplies, each of us will end up with a unique creation using a similar format.
At the end of the zoom gathering we'll show our creation and delight in the
uniqueness of each creation. I will invite you to post your creation in the
comments section on my blog if you'd like. What is great about this? You do not
have to get dressed up and go out! You do not have to be in the company of
people you don't know. You get to dig into your supply of papers, stamps and
inks...you do not have to spend more money. I have watched other folks mystery
card sessions and will be trying to make mine clear and accurate and since we
will be on zoom, we will move along (no dilly dallying) and be finished in 45
minutes. Now if you'd like to participate but don't have any unused supplies,
for future sessions I can prepare kits in advance which can be purchased in
advance (materials cost plus postage or porch pick up). I will be eager to hear
how much you enjoy this strategy and any feedback you'll want to share. I think
we could have a great time together and feel the excitement of creating a card
to share with friends. Once you have made one card, you will have your own
resource to make more - either the same or with new colors and papers. You will
need the password to get into the zoom gathering so RSVP to me that you want
the password by sending me an email at peggyouten@outlook.com or by contacting
me on facebook. I'm excited about this opportunity ...I hope you are too! Let's
get together and play!

I am having a blast playing with all the amazing patterns in the By the Bay Designer series paper pack. This pack is sooo great! Twelve sheets with different designs on each side...24 designs in all....and there are 4 sheets of each paper. Lots of luscious color but none of them too bright or jarring... just restful and reminiscent of the beach! Relaxing!

I just laid out all the patterns that I had not yet used while prepping for my By the Bay class and there are just so many I want to use but haven't used yet. How do I choose? I am intentionally not repeating any design in the eight cards so yo'al can experience many of these images. And we have several current and retired stamp sets that are complimented by these papers. Sure hope SU! doesn't sell out of this DSP (designer series paper) before I get another pack! The crab stamp caught my eye on first glance at the stamp set, but I feel that the sandpipers (I think that is the correct name of the birds) has won me over. If I can't be at the beach like my friend Lyn, at least I can enjoy the ambiance of the beach via these papers.

There are still seats available for the Feb 26th class at 2PM but I need to hear from you by Feb 19th to reserve a seat.

Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10744997329390605587noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1884345243102505192.post-56605119433829675222023-02-11T14:27:00.003-05:002023-02-11T14:27:53.008-05:00Important reminders and some news!
Greetings stamp lovers! I hope you are enjoying fabulous weather as we are here in Perry Hall, Maryland. It is sunny with mild winds and is currently 46 degrees....not exactly warm, but much better than it could be. This is the kind of day that reminds me of the only drawback of my stampin studio....it is located in my basement and has only one small window which faces the house next to us. We really don't get to soak up the gorgeous sun that is shining today when I am down here. Sadly my husbands niche is in exactly the same position. Luckily we were out earlier and soaked up the warmth of the sun. yes!

Today I want to tell you about the March Paper Pumpkin kit...it is gonna be great because it is the 10th anniversary of the start of Paper Pumpkin. This kit has been named "Ten Years of Growth". Stampin' Up has designed a kit that includes the usual goodies BUT this kit includes an extra set of stamps!! Whoo hoo! It is amazing how you can build your collection of images and greetings by enjoying the monthly Paper Pumpkin kits! I need to remind you too that right now (until the end of February) you can purchase a 3 month subscription to Paper Pumpkin and earn a free Saleabration item. I love rewards! If you wait til March to order a 3 month Paper Pumpkin subscription, you will miss out on the saleabration goodie.

The March kit is all about happy greetings, organic and botanical designs digitally painted by our in -house artists along with all-occasion sentiments to celebrate the happy moments in life and recognize the people around you who help you grow! This kit includes all the supplies you need to create 9 cards: 3 each of 3 designs, a Polished Pink Classic stamp spot and a free bonus stamp set featuring a plant and pot builder. All these items come in a colorful box that makes me think of Monet! lovely!

Now I have to get busy and cut the supplies for my "By the Bay" classes on Feb 19th and 26th. Love to have you join us to make 8 different Bay inspired cards. Contact me!

Peggy

Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10744997329390605587noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1884345243102505192.post-26576363542336795862023-02-06T20:12:00.000-05:002023-02-06T20:12:42.636-05:00
Hi stampin friends!

Early this morning (before I was awake!!) Perry Hall saw its first snow of the season. Very little snow... which is a-ok with me! It did not interfere with me going to my exercise class which made me very happy.

When I returned home from lunch, I tried once again to make a video to post online and I am here to see if I can do it right now. I'd love it if you would watch (with a kind heart) and give me (gentle) feedback or suggestions about what you'd like to see on there. My family would be so surprised I am giving this a try because I HATE HAVING MY PICTURE TAKEN...long story...so I deserve a little credit for giving it a try.

Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10744997329390605587noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1884345243102505192.post-6266107152556286982023-01-29T17:28:00.000-05:002023-01-29T17:28:32.278-05:00
Hello Stampin Friends

Just finished my stampin class for today and thought I would give you reminder that I need to hear from you by Tuesday night if you plan to participate in a repeat of this class next Sunday at 2pm.
Long time, no chat!!! Sorry for the recent lag in my blog posts...sometimes life makes it a challenge to keep all the balls up in the air at the same time. But I am back now and eager to tell you that I will be hostessing a stamping session this coming weekend. Three day/time options for the same class.
Saturday, February 13 at 1PM
Sunday, February 14 at 2PM
Monday, February 15 at 1PM
The eight assorted card projects will be the same for each session, you get to choose which time suits you the best!! Bring a friend and shake off those wintertime blues!!

As always you will need to register ahead of time (by Monday, Feb 8th and pay the materials fee($20) up front (you can use paypal). Sorry to have to insist on pre-payment, but I have been left "holding the bag" of materials by several people lately and cannot afford to pre-cut materials that are not used. Sad that folks cannot appreciate my commitment to them without reciprocating in kind, I know.

You will need to bring scissors, a bone folder (if you have one) and your adhesives (snail, sticky strip, liquid and dimensionals). If you are in need of any of these, you can purchase them from me for cash at the session. If you can, please let me know in advance what you need so I can be prepared to serve you. If you want to place an order, I can accept cash, check, or credit cards.

As always I look forward to catching up with you. Call or register or if you have questions.
Before I start my Easter pork loin I thought I would share an Easter card from my last stampin session. The idea was tweaked from another demo whose name I have temporary misplaced. Isn't is a great use of the wood grain stamp? I used deckle scissors (remember those from way back when? Deckle scissors were one of the few tools we had in those days...how times change!! )
Hi all
This is the 8th project from my last stampin session at the beginning of March. It is another creation from My Paper Pumpkin ...but I changed it up a bit. With all the snow we have been having lately, I just needed a burst of SPRING so instead of using the boxy felt letters that came in the kit to spell "Thanks" instead we stamped and punched the letters "Spring!" ...Love it! My Paper Pumpkin is a great starting point but once you get that box of goodies, you can let loose your creative spirit if the planned project doesn't suit your fancy. Remember the special pricing on the my paper pumpkin subscription ends soon. How about giving it a try for one or more months and see how it suits you. Once you are a subscriber, you have access to buying some previously sent kits and refills too.
Crushed for time? This gorgeous quickie is a beautiful card that could carry ANY greeting! Yes, it uses the Big Shot (you know I can't resist!) for cutting the butterfly and for dry embossing the folded white cardstock using a textured impressions embossing floder. It goes together in a flash!!! Remember to use a layer of waxed paper between the die and the cardstock in order to pop the butterfly out in the easiest manner. You could put a stack of these on your stamp table and add whatever greeting you need at the last minute. So pretty ....thanks, Laurie at stampinupnorth for the idea.

Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10744997329390605587noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1884345243102505192.post-6377008678657264382015-03-22T12:30:00.000-04:002015-03-22T12:30:00.240-04:00card #6 from the 3-1, 4, 8-15 class

Sorry...fuzzy me again... This shaker card is actually from a My Paper Pumpkin kit. Do you know about Stampin' Up's Paper Pumpkin subscriptions (you can choose how many months you want to sign for and there is a special deal going on right now!! You can even skip a month now and then if you find you just a bit too busy - ask me how) Everything comes in the kit except your adhesive and scissors...everything pre-cut and ready to go. Please sign up through my SU website (subsciption)so that I can support you as you assemble your 30 minute project.
Reminder: today is the last day to sign up for my next classes to be held on Sat. March 28 at 1:30pm and repeated on Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 PM. contact me at david.outen@verizon.net
Sadly, I don't think this card photographed as well as it looks in person. The background was sponged on the white specialty designer paper in three colors. Yep I punched out the gingham circle with my Big Shot as well as the tag with the parenthesis end on the left. The inks did not stick to the raised embossed dots. Love it. Did you register for my next class to be held on the 28th and repeated on the 29th? Registration deadline is the 22nd!

Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10744997329390605587noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1884345243102505192.post-6103321830500722742015-03-18T13:00:00.000-04:002015-03-18T13:00:01.571-04:00Card #4 from the 3-1-4-8-15 class

Don't let my horrible photography skills deceive you...this is a gorgeous card in person. It is so nice to use this Christmas wreath at a different time of year ...so gentle with the soft pink colors. Can you see the little pearls. inspired by Tina Rappe

Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10744997329390605587noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1884345243102505192.post-25294375947105538012015-03-16T13:12:00.000-04:002015-03-16T13:12:00.501-04:00card #3 from 3-1, 4, 8-15 class

I love Crisp Cantaloupe so this card makes me smile! Yep! used by Big Shot again. I will be sad when my ruffled Crisp Cantaloupe ribbon is gone - gives the card such a nice touch, I think. Great way to use up those favorite strips of designer paper too!

Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10744997329390605587noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1884345243102505192.post-75317579765691705982015-03-15T12:00:00.000-04:002015-03-15T12:00:07.127-04:00Card #2 from 3-1,4,8 class

If you are into the grunge look, this card is for you (inspired by Judi Howard). The honeycomb was made by sponging through a homemade acetate stencil (it was moved around to cover the areas I wanted to show). The speckles and streaks give it that grunge look which is nicely softened with the butterflies.
Those of you who already know me, know I love my Big Shot. I have had my machine for years (even have a back up because I would NEVER want to have to wait for a new one). So using the thinlits to cut the lattice and the letters is a quick plus for this card. Love it!!

Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10744997329390605587noreply@blogger.com0
