Fifth Ave Floral class card #1

Hi all

This card is based on one done by Jenn Diercks. It is a great layout because it makes use of those small pieces of Designer Paper that you cannot bring yourself to throw away but are too small to do much with...a ha! whip out your punches and go to town!! This card fit into the class plan because we were making cards to fit into a tin so the cards needed to be thin ...easy on the thick embellishments. This card worked perfectly!
Love to see what you can do with this layout!

Upcoming class and SALE!!!

Hi All

Guess you think I have disappeared off the face of the earth!!! Naaah! I have just been recovering from brain class fatigue and a little family emergency that happened the other day...but we seem to be back on track now. Wanted to alert you to a last minute announcement about my upcoming class - this coming Wednesday night at 7PM at my stampin room in Perry Hall, Maryland we will make a collection of cards using the Fifth Avenue Floral set and a nifty tin to hold them (like the tin we made during the Cheep Talk class, see the July 1 posting). You will need to bring your adhesives (snail and sticky strip), scissors and a bone folder. Refreshments will be served. You MUST contact me by Tuesday, July 7 at 7PM if you plan to attend. The materials fee is $20 and if you pay at the door you must pay in cash.
Bonus for those who attend - you will get first opportunity to purchase my new and old retired stamp sets and designer papers. Buy four sets and the least expensive one is free! Buy four packs of desinger paper and the least expensive one is free. Please pay for these in cash. I am trying to put together a list of what I have to offer ...but it is not ready yet! Hi all -
In answer to your question, Michelle. The card carrier tin (look back two posts) was purchased as part of a group buy and the lady who did the buying would not reveal where she got them. Luckily I bought enough for a couple of my stamp classes. Perhaps if you post on a online group, someone could guide you. Or you might check a company - I think it is called Uline - I believe they are DVD cases.

Riley's memory tin

Hi all

Tonight I have pictures for you of my latest baby memory tin which I was asked to make for a coworker to give to her friend. The colors were to be green and blue and the theme is giraffes. I peaked at the bedding the mother had chosen by looking at a link on the web and I think I got a pretty good match as the bedding has various colored stripes. I have just now finished the tin and will be delivering it tomorrow - hope Jill loves what I did. When I begin to make a tin, I never know exactly what it will look like in the end - I start with a general idea and the particulars evolve as the tin is constructed. I really like this one!! The only stamping is the spots on the giraffes which I did with a narrow sponge dauber on a stick. The letters are from the retired Stampin' Up! collection but I did not stamp them on this paper. Instead, I stamped them on scrap paper, then cut them out and traced them onto colored cardstock. After I finished the front letter, I layered it on a darker cardstock and hand cut it slightly larger. The grass is a sizzix die cut and the smallest giraffes are also die cuts. The medium and large giraffes were made by enlarging the dies on a copier and cutting them out and tracing them onto cardstock. The tree is a sizzix die cut and the leaves are a Stampin' Up! /Sizzix die. The clouds are actually a long sizzix mountain die stuck on upside down.

Cheep talk tin

Hi all,
Can you tell that I have no control over my pictures? Frustrating!! No matter what order I select the pictures (forward, backward or randomly) they never show up the way I want them to. Since I am not computer savvy, I guess I am lucky they show up at all!!

ANYHOW, there are three pictures: one of the cover, which I love!! I think it turned out soooo cute! and two pictures of the inside of the tin. One of the pictures shows the inside with the envelopes in place on the left side - tied in using retired old olive ribbon - and another picture with the envelopes removed so you can see the little die cut scallop envelope for storing postage stamps. The ribbon on the right side of the tin is not Stampin' Up! We used that ribbon because it made a nice flat (not too bulky) ribbon to hold in the cards. Tight squeeze!
