father's day

Hi all
First, let me remind you that today is the deadline to sign up for my upcoming Holiday Stamp a Stack class to be held on Sunday, August 12th.  E-me, text or give me a call to get your name on the list.  We will make 5designs, 4 of each design for a total of 20 cards.

This is the Father's Day card I made for my husband this year.

Inside I made a pocket to hold his treat, a gift card to his favorite haunt.

Went with the star eyelets on the cover and the grommets on the inside to give it a little texture and metal (isn't that the male equivalent of female bling?).

Hi all
In my house, a tool themed card will work for any of my three guys.

I saw this idea on line and knew I had to work it up for my Father's Day card class.  I added the cork background and the aluminum scallop circle to continue the work bench idea.  fun!

My grandfather's clock....

Hi all
My grandfather's clock....Remember the old song that begins that way?  When I was planning the Father's Day card class, I tried to think of as many different themes for guys as I could.  My eye was caught by this clock.  

No it is not a grandfather's clock but it is the closest thing I could find.  Love the silver cord with beads on the clock!!

Hi all
Another guy oriented card today...if your guy plays golf!!

The golf ball was made using the polka dotted TIEF  - that stands for textured impressions embossing folder.   I hand cut the golf tee and used an old sizzix long die for the grass.  This card opens just above the BFF label - it actually catches behind the label to stay closed.  Sadly, lots of retired products in this card.

Motorcyle madness!

You might recall that lately I have been trying to get caught up on some of the class cards we have made over the last couple of months.  This is from the Father's Day card class..

This motorcycle is such a popular image but unfortunately it is retired.  Again, I paired it with the retired nautical designer series paper.  Good match, huh?

Maculine Nautical card

Hi all
Many stampers find the hardest cards to make are the ones we give our guys.   Here is a nice card we made at the Father's Day card class.

The retired nautical designer paper is the perfect match for this sail boat image.  I had to use the very old teardrop shape from the old coluzzle cutting set - thought is handled the image perfectly.

Oh my gosh!! Can it really be August already!?!?!? The summer moved at such a nice pace from the close of school to July 4th but it has really been flying since then.
Sometimes, I like to use cards of different dimensions - just to mix things up a bit.  Here is a fun birthday card that would fit into a bill paying envelope.

The ice cream cone is made from a pennant punch and the icing from the cupcake punch. The lollipop is made from a button stamp.
