grad cards

Hi all!!
I'm back!! Today I had a fun day prepping cards for tomorrow's class. I'm going to start posting them tonight and the rest will come through during the week. Check back daily to see the rest of them.

This card attracted me because it make me think of the tree of knowledge ...simple but appropriate for a graduate about to start the major journey of their life. It was tweaked from a card posted on one of my groups but I realize now the print out did not include the artist' name ..rats!! Her card was square and used a diagonal stripe and some jute. Thanks for the inspiration.

Is she gone again??

Hi all
No, I am not gone!! I am just absolutely swamped with end of the school year stuff - assessment reports (my schools are still getting permission for me to test but I have to be done in the next 11 days - I usually have 60-90 days to do testing! ach!), and progress reports (only about 40!) and all the while still seeing all my students. I have been very involved in compiling a memory book for a coworker who is retiring after about 30 years of service at the same school. Wow! I have asked my coworkers to each make a memory page to put in a book for this great lady - wow! is it fun to see what folks come up with. Of course, the best pages are ones that include the comments or drawings by the students - sooo funny! I worked with some ladies to make about 60 "favors" for the dinner on Friday night. Next, I have to compile a smaller memory book for another coworker who is transferring to another school after her position was cut in half. Then the final project is to make favors for a combination baby/wedding shower (two different ladies) - then I think I will be able to pack up my stuff and bring it home for the summer! whew - no wonder I am tired. Tonight I went to a meeting about a graduate class I am taking this summer - we were told which two books we are supposed to read ...before the class begins on the 22nd! Luckily the books look great so I am eager to read them! I am still working up the projects for my grads and congrats class this Sunday. Yep! I have been a busy bee. I'll post some new pics soon! 16th birthday pop up

Hi all,
Tonight I am sharing my first Sizzix die pop up cake!! This is a card I made tonight for my son, John, who turns 16 Sunday. He is a drummer and so I tried to make the cake look like a stack of snare drums (the drum he plays). I thought it turned out well for a first attempt. I'll try to remember to let you know what his reaction is when I give it to him later!

DAD cd holder card

Hi all
Tonight I am posting the last of the projects from my stampin session last Sunday. This is a CD Holder (I have more blank holders if anyone is interested in getting some) made into a greeting card. The cover uses chipboard letters which were die cut using the Serif Essentials dies. The let inside uses die cut parenthesis (Sizzix die) and a retired Journal Fun stamp (lines). Inside the pocket is a large scallop circle meant for pictures or journaling. On the right side is a little tag pocket to hold money, a gift card or tickets. I think this is a really cool project when you want to share more than sweet greetings.

Daddy's car

Hi all
This silly little card is meant to be given by a child for Father's Day although Beth suggested it might be a fun Birthday card for a child too. I saw a chipboard car at a local craft store and thought it was just too cute!! The windows of the car are made using the inside portion of the scallop oval frame die. I used the small oval punch to make the headlights and tail lights. I think it is really cute!
