Hi all

I had a bit of a computer glitch last night and had to postpone my initial Mystery Card Session to next Monday.  Hopefully, you can be patient with my "senior" brain trying to master skills that it was not meant to know!!  I think I'll get there eventually.  Had to laugh when a former co-worker posted a picture of good ol' purple dittos today.   Yeah!  that was my "technology" too!!  In the meantime, I hope our local folks have gotten over the surprise of our first little snow and the accompanying cold.  It's a good day to take a look at the offerings on my SU website  (peggyouten.stampinup.net)

Have you ever had a goal that you set for yourself and as the deadline loomed right ahead of you, you found yourself falling a bit short?  Disappointing for sure.  Tomorrow is the last day of Stampin' Up! Saleabration and I have not yet hit the mark I had set for myself.  I'm close. Really close. I'm hoping some of my procrastinating friends will come forward and take advantage of this exciting offer of  your choice of a free goodie for each $50 (subtotal) you spend from my Stampin' Up website (peggyouten.stampinup.net). The deadline is tomorrow,  Tuesday, February 28th.  Did you know that Stampin' UP! initially had a mini catalog of freebies but later added ten more choices to the freebie option?  I myself have gotten several cool items...papers, punches, stamps.  Fun!  I have always felt that this is the very best time to get your cardstock - both colored and white - because you know you will eventually use it; you might as well get a free item too!  Do you know that if you make a $50 subtotal purchase and earn a Saleabration reward, you will also get a mini card kit from me?  In the kit are materials and directions to make three cards, with my thanks.  Questions?  just call me 410-256-6772.

New Stampin Opportunity!!!

I think we can all agree that the last couple of years have forced many adjustments on us. Some changes have turned out somewhat disappointing but many others have tapped our resourcefulness and creativity. I have decided to try and make our getting together easier and more convenient so here is my latest strategy. (Please note: I will still be conducting in person classes for those who enjoy them as much as I do!)
On Sunday night, I will post on here a list of supplies needed to make a mystery card, including measurements for each piece of cardstock or paper in the project, along with the adhesives and tools needed to make the card. You will cut the materials yourself and gather the tools, stamps and embellishments from your own stash. You will not see my card at that time. We will meet via zoom on Monday night at 8pm to actually make the card from step by step directions I will prepare in advance. Because each of us is using our own supplies, each of us will end up with a unique creation using a similar format. At the end of the zoom gathering we'll show our creation and delight in the uniqueness of each creation. I will invite you to post your creation in the comments section on my blog if you'd like. What is great about this? You do not have to get dressed up and go out! You do not have to be in the company of people you don't know. You get to dig into your supply of papers, stamps and inks...you do not have to spend more money. I have watched other folks mystery card sessions and will be trying to make mine clear and accurate and since we will be on zoom, we will move along (no dilly dallying) and be finished in 45 minutes. Now if you'd like to participate but don't have any unused supplies, for future sessions I can prepare kits in advance which can be purchased in advance (materials cost plus postage or porch pick up). I will be eager to hear how much you enjoy this strategy and any feedback you'll want to share. I think we could have a great time together and feel the excitement of creating a card to share with friends. Once you have made one card, you will have your own resource to make more - either the same or with new colors and papers. You will need the password to get into the zoom gathering so RSVP to me that you want the password by sending me an email at peggyouten@outlook.com or by contacting me on facebook. I'm excited about this opportunity ...I hope you are too! Let's get together and play!

Stampers!

Wow! I am having a blast playing with all the amazing patterns in the By the Bay Designer series paper pack.  This pack is sooo great!  Twelve sheets with different designs on each side...24 designs in all....and there are 4 sheets of each paper.  Lots of luscious color but none of them too bright or jarring... just restful and reminiscent of the beach!  Relaxing!

I just laid out all the patterns that I had not yet used while prepping for my By the Bay class and there are just so many I want to use but haven't used yet.  How do I choose?  I am intentionally not repeating any design in the eight cards so yo'al can experience many of these images.  And we have several current and retired stamp sets that are complimented by these papers.  Sure hope SU! doesn't sell out of this DSP (designer series paper) before I get another pack!  The crab stamp caught my eye on first glance at the stamp set, but I feel that the sandpipers (I think that is the correct name of the birds) has won me over.  If I can't be at the beach like my friend Lyn, at least I can enjoy the ambiance of the beach via these papers.

There are still seats available for the Feb 26th class at 2PM but I need to hear from you by Feb 19th to reserve a seat.

Important reminders and some news!

Greetings stamp lovers!  I hope you are enjoying fabulous weather as we are here in Perry Hall, Maryland. It is sunny with mild winds and is currently 46 degrees....not exactly warm, but much better than it could be.  This is the kind of day that reminds me of the only drawback of my stampin studio....it is located in my basement and has only one small window which faces the house next to us.  We really don't get to soak up the gorgeous sun that is shining today when I am down here.  Sadly my husbands niche is in exactly the same position.  Luckily we were out earlier and soaked up the warmth of the sun.  yes!

Today I want to tell you about the March Paper Pumpkin kit...it is gonna be great because it is the 10th anniversary of the start of Paper Pumpkin.  This kit has been named "Ten Years of Growth".  Stampin' Up has designed a kit that includes the usual goodies BUT this kit includes an extra set of stamps!!  Whoo hoo!  It is amazing how you can build your collection of images and greetings by enjoying the monthly Paper Pumpkin kits!  I need to remind you too that right now (until the end of February) you can purchase a 3 month subscription to Paper Pumpkin and earn a free Saleabration item.  I love rewards!  If you wait til March to order a 3 month Paper Pumpkin subscription, you will miss out on the saleabration goodie.

The March kit is all about happy greetings, organic and botanical designs digitally painted by our in -house artists along with all-occasion sentiments to celebrate the happy moments in life and recognize the people around you who help you grow!  This kit includes all the supplies you need to create 9 cards: 3 each of 3 designs, a Polished Pink Classic stamp spot and a free bonus stamp set featuring a plant and pot builder.  All these items come in a colorful box that makes me think of Monet!  lovely!

Now I have to get busy and cut the supplies for my "By the Bay" classes on Feb 19th and 26th.  Love to have you join us to make 8 different Bay inspired cards.  Contact me!

Hi stampin friends!

Early this morning (before I was awake!!)  Perry Hall saw its first snow of the season.  Very little snow... which is a-ok with me!   It did not interfere with me going to my exercise class which made me very happy.

When I returned home from lunch, I tried once again to make a video to post online and I am here to see if I can do it right now.   I'd love it if you would watch (with a kind heart) and give me (gentle) feedback or suggestions about what you'd like to see on there. My family would be so surprised I am giving this a try because I HATE HAVING MY PICTURE TAKEN...long story...so I deserve a little credit for giving it a try.
