Holiday Stamp a Stack clases have been put on the calendar!!

Hi all

You early birds have been asking about the Holiday/Christmas Stamp a stack classes and sure enough, they have been placed on my calendar.  (peggyouten.stampinup.net)

They are:  August 9th,  September 13, October 18 (originally listed for the 11th but then I realized that is when I will be at my high school reunion!!), and finally November 15.  Each class will have a new group of cards.

I hope you will join us for some super stampin' as we will be making 20 cards at each class (5 designs, 4 of each design).  Contact me now to book your seat.  If you really want to attend but find none of these dates are good for you, contact me and we will try to work something out for you.

You need to bring your adhesives (snail, sticky strip or our new tearin' tape, liquid glue, and glue dots) and your basic tools, ie.  scissors and a bone folder (for scoring creases - if you have one).

Bring a friend and get a jump on your holiday preparations.   Isn't this the year you want to be ready for the holidays?  There are less than 150 days til Christmas.

Soon I will be adding an ornaments and tags class and a Convention trades class.  There is something for everyone.  Don't see what you want...contact me with your wishes!

I'm excited about the new mini catalog and will have them available at the August class.

Easter Greetings

Hi all
Before I start my Easter pork loin I thought I would share an Easter card from my last stampin session.  The idea was tweaked from another demo whose name I have temporary misplaced.  Isn't is a great use of the wood grain stamp?   I used deckle scissors (remember those from way back when?   Deckle scissors were one of the few tools we had in those days...how times change!!  )
Here is a real Eater Treat!!!  Stampin' Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING ON ALL ORDERS OF ANY SIZE from April 6 - 10th   NOW IS THE TIME TO STOCK UP ON STAPLES SUCH AS CARDSTOCK, ADHESIVES, AND OF COURSE, STAMPS. I'm on spring break this week so don't hesitate to call for help or advise!!

Hey, I just noticed I am not far from hitting 60,000 visits on my blog.  Wonder what I could do for the person who is 60,000 and who leaves a message? hmmmmm.....................

Final project from 3 -1, 4, 8 -15 class

Hi all
This is the 8th project from my last stampin session at the beginning of March.  It is another creation from My Paper Pumpkin ...but I changed it up a bit.   With all the snow we have been having lately, I just needed a burst of SPRING so instead of using the boxy felt letters that came in the kit to spell "Thanks" instead we stamped and punched the letters "Spring!"  ...Love it!  My Paper Pumpkin is a great starting point but once you get that box of goodies, you can let loose your creative spirit if the planned project doesn't suit your fancy.  Remember the special pricing on the my paper pumpkin subscription ends soon.  How about giving it a try for one or more months and see how it suits you.  Once you are a subscriber, you have access to buying some previously sent kits and refills too.

card #7 from 3-1, 4, 8 -15 class

Crushed for time?  This gorgeous quickie is a beautiful card that could carry ANY greeting!  Yes, it uses the Big Shot (you know I can't resist!) for cutting the butterfly and for dry embossing the folded white cardstock using a textured impressions embossing floder.   It goes together in a flash!!!  Remember to use a layer of waxed paper between the die and the cardstock in order to pop the butterfly out in the easiest manner.  You could put a stack of these on your stamp table and add whatever greeting you need at the last minute. So pretty ....thanks, Laurie at stampinupnorth for the idea.

card #6 from the 3-1, 4, 8-15 class

Sorry...fuzzy me again... This shaker card is actually from a My Paper Pumpkin kit.  Do you know about Stampin' Up's Paper Pumpkin subscriptions (you can choose how many months you want to sign for and there is a special deal going on right now!!  You can even skip a month now and then if you find you just a bit too busy - ask me how)  Everything comes in the kit except your adhesive and scissors...everything pre-cut and ready to go.   Please sign up through my SU website (subsciption)so that I can support you as you assemble your 30 minute project.
Reminder:  today is the last day to sign up for my next classes to be held on Sat. March 28 at 1:30pm and repeated on Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 PM.  contact me at david.outen@verizon.net

Card #5 from the 3-1, 4, 8 -15 class

Sadly, I don't think this card photographed as well as it looks in person.  The background was sponged on the white specialty designer paper in three colors.  Yep I punched out the gingham circle with my Big Shot as well as the tag with the parenthesis end on the left.  The inks did not stick to the raised embossed dots.  Love it.  Did you register for my next class to be held on the 28th and repeated on the 29th?  Registration deadline is the 22nd!

Card #4 from the 3-1-4-8-15 class

Don't let my horrible photography skills deceive you...this is a gorgeous card in person.  It is so nice to use this Christmas wreath at a different time of year ...so gentle with the soft pink colors.  Can you see the little pearls.  inspired by Tina Rappe

card #3 from 3-1, 4, 8-15 class

I love Crisp Cantaloupe so this card makes me smile!   Yep!   used by Big Shot again.  I will be sad when my ruffled Crisp Cantaloupe ribbon is gone - gives the card such a nice touch, I think.  Great way to use up those favorite strips of designer paper too!

Card #2 from 3-1,4,8 class

If you are into the grunge look, this card is for you (inspired by Judi Howard).  The honeycomb was made by sponging through a homemade acetate stencil (it was moved around to cover the areas I wanted to show).  The speckles and streaks give it that grunge look which is nicely softened with the butterflies.

Card #1 from 3-1,4,8-15 class

Those of you who already know me, know I love my Big Shot.   I have had my machine for years (even have a back up because I would NEVER want to have to wait for a new one).  So using the thinlits to cut the lattice and the letters is a quick plus for this card.  Love it!!

Class Addition!!!!!!

Hi folks
I was slow to realize that I had planned a class for Palm Sunday, March 29th at 2PM.  In order to accommodate those of you who have traditional Palm Sunday celebrations, I am ADDING a session to be held Saturday, March 28th at 1:30 PM, presenting the same projects as those for the Sunday class.  Choose whichever is more convenient for you!!   You still must register by March 22nd.  Questions...just give me a holler!
Have to admit I have thoroughly enjoyed the restorative joy of stamping this week.   How did I let my busy day work, pull me away from my pegadillo/pecadillo?!?!?  Oh the joy of stamping!!

Upcoming class

Hi  all
So happy to say I have recently been able to resume my classes after several stressful months at my "day" job.  I hope to post the projects from my most recent class soon.  That class ended up being presented three times due to weather....Last Sunday, last Wednesday, and again this coming Sunday.
I have also added a class for March 29th at 2PM.  Would love to have you join us.  If that date is not good for you, contact me.  I may be able to repeat the class if there is interest.
Stay warm!  and Think SPRING!
Remember that Salebration will be ending soon!  Don't let the month end without taking advantage of this wonderful buying time with lovely free rewards.
Questions?  Just contact me....I'd be happy to explain the free rewards program.
