Easter Cards and Treats #8

Hi all
Final easter project ...it is a quickie!

I love to give holiday treats...this is an easy way to give out easter goodies. Try it!  The basket is made from a square scallop die cut and the handle was punched with the lace border punch.   Need specific details, contact me.

Easter Cards and Treats #6

Hi all
Gee...I am so behind on my posts so I wanted to jump in and share another Easter project with you.

This project was tweaked from someone but I cannot seem to find the name just now. I'll keep looking and post it when I find it. (Easter update:  my friend Colleen just reminded me that the originator of this wonderful idea was Cindy Fodor - a successful SU demo in PA).  Notice that this cross uses the rosette die (both edges).  I chose to use the concord crush cardstock to give it that rich coloring associated with Easter.  The cross is mounted to a long stick so that it could be added to a plant as a poke.
Remember the deadline for saleabration is fast approaching...get you order in by March 31 to get your full rewards!

Easter Cards and Treats #5

Hi all
What is Easter without a chocolate bunny? The chocolate bunny is essential!!!

I love this stamp and even though it is retired, I had to keep it.  This card used two Framelits die cut frames, one nested in the other.  The rosette die was used to create the fence like panel at the bottom and another edgelit was used at the bottom.
Here is another view of the card that shows you that the bunny is actually on the inside.

Hope you enjoy it!!  Now back to prepping for this Sunday's class!!
Please remember to get your SAB order in PDQ.  Every year I hear someone say, "Oh, I missed the deadline for the rewards!" So sad!!  Get your order in now!!

Easter Cards and Treats #4

Hi Friends
Sure hope you have checked your stampin' supplies and made up your order to take advantage of the Salebration rewards before Salebration ends this Saturday.  This is absolutely the best time to get the cardstock, inks, and accessories plus preferred stamps, of course.  You can place your order directly with me via email or phone call, or go to my website,  peggyouten.stampinup.net and place the order through my store.

Today I have a calendar easel card for you.  Send a greeting that warms your friend every day because when they look at this calendar on their desk, they will remember you thought of them and cared enough to send a hand crafted greeting.

Isn't this great?  Love to hear your thoughts!
Remember the special deal on the demonstrator starter kit also ends on Saturday - whether you want your own business or just want to get a discount on all your Stampin' Up! purchases, now is the time to sign up.  Did you know that if you sign up now, you will get to choose between a free pack of DSP each month remaining in 2012 or a free digital download each month?

Easter Cards and Treats #3

Hi all!  We had a fun group of ladies at class today and boy were they cookin'!  They finished a lot of projects and them done promptly and beautifully.  They were so on the task that they didn't need me so I did some simple stampin on the side while they worked.   I was able to finish some treats for my coworkers  ...I only go to that school on Tuesdays and I want to take some St. Paddy's treats when I go.

But back to the easter projects................

This cute little bunny treat was made from one of the two tags die cuts (that is where the scallops around the face come from) which was folded twice (to give it a flat base) and tucked back under the bottom of the oval ears (to keep it closed).  The mouth area was made from three punched hearts and a jewelry tag (for the teeth).  Two more of the jewelry tags were used to make the whiskers.  Inside this treat are two Andes candies but a Hershey nugget would fit inside as well.  Cute little treat for your friends and family!  Let me hear what you think of this idea?
I am changing the theme for my next stampin session (March 25th)- we will be doing girly projects with Mom's in mind but which will be  appropriate for your gal pals too. Join us.
The squash album class will be rescheduled.

Easter Cards and Treats #2

Quick quick....it's late!  I have been busy prepping for my upcoming birthday card class.

Here is another fun card from the Easter class...

I am not that crazy about the watches hanging from this umbrella, but I like the umbrella so I decided this image was perfect for an Easter card...because I could easily change the watches to eggs and flowers which are punched out of designer series paper. Don't you just love the detail work at the bottom of this card.  The card base is the luscious concord crush card stock and ink.  Perfect for Easter.  Cute!!

Easter Cards and Treats #1

Hi all
Before I show you the first Easter project I want to remind you that on March 31st I am doing an all day retreat with my long time friend and former co-worker, June.   The theme of this retreat is Gratitude.  June has many impressive credentials but for the purpose of this event, know that she is a life coach.  She has conducted many group sessions in her career and you will surely enjoy her insights and benefit from her guidance.  The retreat will run from 9 am to 9 pm at a private location in Harford County.  One of the activities of the day will involve making full greeting cards from the many card fronts I have obtained through trades at the Stampin' Up! events over the years. These cards will be sent to service men overseas so they have cards to send home to acknowledge their loved ones special events.  Later in the day we will have another session of card making from scratch and you will get to take your projects home.  In other words, two sessions of FUN!!!  We only have two spots left so please contact me PDQ if you want to participate.  We are gonna have a great day!!  Come rejuvenate your spirit!!

This card is a near case of one made by Dawn Olchefske - I tweaked it very slightly.  Notice the designer brad in the center of the flower and the light touch of delicate organdy ribbon across the card?  This card can be made in segments because the flower is separate from the card so it can easily be added at the last minute.  More Easter projects coming!!
Remember to sign up for next Sunday's stampin session where we will be making birthday cards.
Before I close for tonight ( I am beat!!) I want to encourage you to set up a March workshop with your friends, family and coworkers.  Your guests will earn rewards when their subtotal reaches $50 and you will will special rewards as a hostess.  There are still weeknights and weekend times available.

I'm baaaackk!

Hi Stampers!!
Sorry to have been away from the keyboard for so long.  Work has been especially nuts lately and some of my weekends have been busy packing up my belongings and then unpacking them again.  Dave has made nice progress on painting the downstairs and cleaning the carpets, but each time he finishes one room, I have to pack up a new room, and unpack the rooms he has finished.   I am trying to take advantage of the opportunity to do some cleaning and purging.  It was a real challenge when I had to wash all the glassware in the china closets.  That is how I spell b-o-r-i-n-g!  I hope to have the living room and dining room completed before the Easter holiday.
I thought today I would share with you a cute little project I made for the ladies in my book club.  Our last meeting was special - the hostess, my friend June, had recently had her home redone and she was eager to let us see the new look (it is quite lovely!!)  Our book to be discussed was set in old England so she served tea and scones.  Fun!  She asked us each to bring a favorite teacup and saucer.  Well all of my favorite cups were packed!!  Except one!.... I had received a bouquet of flowers in a tea cup from coworkers when my mom died and the cup and saucer had not fit into the boxes I had packed - I set the teacup and saucer on the top of the pile of boxes.  So that was the one I took - even though it was seriously out of season (very fall design).
Here are the treats I took to the meeting....

This box is a variation of one that was recently presented in the Stampin Success magazine.  I fiddled around with the numbers to get a slightly different size.  The scoring board was a great help in making my goodies.  If course, they had candies inside!
Keep your eye on the calendar....Sale a bration is about to end at the end of March - Now is the time to stock up on your favorite basic supplies (cardstock, inks and accoutrements) because each $50 purchase gets you a free SAB reward - and the rewards are great!
If you have been thinking about joining Stampin Up with me, now is the time to do that too - the kit is only $125!!   I read a statistic today that only 30% of the Stampin' Up! demos have a downline.  Now that is very surprising to me (I love my downline gals!) but it surely points out that there are lots of folks who realize the advantage of being on the inside of SU! as a demo - the discount, the early release of new products, convention, and most of all, the camaraderie!! - but don't feel the need to make it a business. If you love our products, think about joining in the fun of being a demo.   You have to be part of it!!  Call me!
Of course, if you are commitment-shy or you feel it is not the best time for you, you can always share in the fun at my stampin sessions.
Come back soon to check out the projects from my Easter projects class.
g'night!
Peggy
