Stampin Projects for July 5th stampin session

Stamp a stack pictures will resume tomorrow.  In the meantime, as promised, here are pictures of two of the projects we will be making at the July 5th stampin session.

Hi all
Well I had two sessions of the One Sheet Wonder Stamp a Stack and we sure had a great time at each session.  Nice conversation, even though some folks were strangers with each other at the start of the sessions.  Kudos to Sharon Field for sharing the plan for cutting the 6x6 cardstock to make 5 cards.
Here is the first 6 x 6 sheet we stamped;  I called it Tropical.

Here is what we made with the stamped sheet after I cut the 6 x 6 into five pieces....

Hi Stampers!
Today I thought I would share a project I made for my son to take to a birthday party.  Vinney plays base drum in the marching band with John (who plays snare).  I don't have the hard rock stamp set so I dug into my sizzix sizzlits and here is what  I came up with.  Even John thought it was neat...high  praise!

I forgot to rotate the picture of the money holder - it is actually vertical in the card.  This card was made from a single sheet of 5 1/2 x 12 white cardstock.

another farewell memory book

For this book I attached the designer paper to chipboard and then die cut the letters on my Big Shot.  Had to trim the letters a bit to fit them but I still like the look.

Farewell memory book

Hi all
By the time you see this post, school will be over and summer vacation will have started...whoo hoo!  I like to compile memory books for my fellow coworkers who are moving onto other schools.  Today I am sharing the cover of the first book.  We leave a pack of printed scrapbooking papers in the office and anyone who wants takes a sheet, decorates it and leaves a little note.  Then I compile all the pages in a book, tyring to get coordinating pages side by side.  We always leave a few empty pockets in case the recipient wants to add her own treasures.  I think it is a more meaningful gift than gift certificates or plaques. 

The school is named Oliver Beach, thus the "at the Beach".  Best wishes Tiffany!

Are you tired of seeing these?  I really like making them...a 3 D project with cards that the recipient can share with others.  love it!

card #2 from set

Hi all
Here is the second card in the set I made for John's teacher.  She seemed genuinely pleased to receive the gift.  Thursday one of my students gave me a surprising, but wonderful gift - a green, plush towel. - Tommy Hilfiger!!  It is so soft - comfy!  But the sweet note the mom wrote and read aloud to me was the really wonderful part!  I am always so grateful when the parents take the time to say "thanks".

The cards inside the latest tin

I have lots of retired DSP so, of course, I use it whenever I can.  For this card I used a technique called bargello.  You cut strips of paper (usually striped in some way) and then offset each strip so the stripes do not line up with "like" parts of the pattern.  Kinda looks like it is moving!

Here I go again!!

Hi all!!
I am still whipping up "thank you's" for coworkers and such.  The other day I got a call from my son's math teacher (oh no!!) She called to tell me that my son should be taking a tough math class next year - that he had aced his math final (whooo hoo!!) This comes on the heels of a horrible year with his English teacher.  If you are a parent of a kid like my younger son (very great kid but not so into school!) you can appreciate how welcome the call from the math teacher was. This was not the first time she had contacted me by email or phone to give me good news!  That is my favorite kind of teacher or boss!!  Anyway, I wanted to show my appreciation so here is what I made.

Tomorrow I will share the cards I put inside.

My latest card carrier project

Hi all
Seems that lately I have been stamping "on demand"...you know, when you NEED to have a project for a special person or occasion.  Here is my latest ...a gift for a dear friend who has fought a hard battle with health issues.  We were happy to celebrate her improved health yesterday in her glorious back yard!  I especially enjoyed seeing my old buds from one of my former schools..hugs, gals!

 This is retired DSP and ribbon on a metal DVD case but the DSP and ribbon are  sooo lovely that I really enjoy using my left overs.  Of course the top note and bird are die cuts.

This is the inside - there are several different cards on the right side and a mini pen.  On the left are the envelopes and a mini scallop die cut envelope to store stamps.
One thing I learned doing this...be sure NOT to put the ribbons in the same place.  They add too much bulk to the box so when you close it ...it doesn't!!  That is why I added the punched closure and velcro on the front...to squeeze it shut.  I could have removed a few cards but I really wanted her to have 6, not 4.

Here is what if looks like on the left when the envelopes are removed.  I added the slip of lined paper for her to jot dates or addys.  Actually I added it because when I moved the ribbon up, I tore the paper a bit and did not have another sheet to replace it.  Instead, I just covered up my boo-boo.  Remember the rule about embellishments?  Where should you put them?  Wherever you NEED to.  Shhh! don't tell Judy I goofed!  It was a gift of love even if the boo boo is hiding unde there.
We could do a class for card carriers if anyone is interested...just let me know.
Back to my school  progress reports......five days left!!!!!

Bridal Shower gift

Hi Stampers!!
Well I am still plugging away at the tons of schoolwork piled on me just now, but every once in a while I have a "gotta do now" stampin' project, like the one I finished for a Bridal shower at work today.  I share my room at one of my schools with 6 other ladies and one of them (the YOUNG one) is getting married in August.  You may recall seeing the bride and groom shower favors I posted a few weeks ago.  Well tonight I want to share with you the mini album I made for her.  The dimensions when the book is folded up are 6 x 6.

The picture above shows the book closed with the tags in a mini cello bag.  These tags are for her to attach to the pages (if she wants) as titles.

The above picture shows what you see when you open the front  left flap = the paper on the left is polka dotted bumps and the paper on the right is that gorgeous textured looking lace.

This picture (above) shows what you see when you open the next flap on the right.

And here is the next, left-sided flap open.  I think you can tell that all the top papers are the same.

The picture above shows all the flaps fully opened.  Again all the visible paper match - the center page on the right showed some texture that did not show well in the photo.

These are the title tags I made that she can position in the book whereever she sees fit.

This last photo shows the two parts before I slipped the tag bag under the bow.  She seemed happy to receive this hand crafted gift....and I got some relaxation time while I made it.  I can help you make a similar book...just leave me a comment or email me.

OBES volunteer appreciation treats

Hi all,
Well, tonight the favors are finally finished...it has taken a long time to get these done, mostly because of all the distractions I have had ...my many progress reports and evaluation reports for school, my MIL's birthday, and dealing with all of my son's end of school events.  And there were also several steps to assemble these babies!  I am tired, have to admit it!  Anyway, here they are...all 47 of them!

whoops!  all my text just disappeared!  Anyway, these are not SU stamps - there was not enough turn around time from when I got the charge to do this and when it needed to be done to order from SU.  bummer!  We have a very similar stamp set.  All the cardstock is from SU!  In fact, I used lots of my retiring C/S to make these.  Well, I also got one evaluation report written and about 7 progress reports done tonight..I deserve a good nights sleep tonight!!

Beth's Card Saver DVD

Hi all,
I am so eager to spend my summer days stampin ...stampin ...stampin BUT I have to finish a ton of school work before the 18th so I am not getting much opportunity to stamp.  I did take the time to make a DVD tin for my coworker who had her birthday this week.  When you look at the picture, you will see that the cards are not using current stamp sets.  I made the tin especially for her but had to choose the cards from a stash of previously stamped cards I had.

In the next couple of days I will show you the 50 volunteer appreciation favors I made for one of my schools.  Check back for a peek.
