Baby Memory Tin and snack server

Hi all
This past weekend I had an opportunity to create another baby memory tin for a coworker.  Luckily this time, I knew the baby is a girl and that her name will be "Ella".

The plan for the nursery is light purple so I tried to work that in where ever I could.  She has a simple and short name so there was some extra space on the front.  I decided to add some elements.

I added a heart because I remember how much the meaning of heart changed when I had my children.  Suddenly it was not just an organ to keep the body working but also the seat of your concerns and wishes for your dear baby.

And the other side... what can be more whimsical than a butterfly encrusted with rhinestones.

On the back I decided to add a crown - after all, aren't all little girls princesses?

The top of the can includes the poem which explains that the papers on one side and the pen on the other are to record those special moments in baby's life.  That way you don't lose those precious details in the rush of life.
Here is the simple, simple, simple treat holder I made for the shower.

Usually I make individual favors but I simply ran out of time.  So I made a cute little baby carriage (actually four of them) to hold special pretzels and four cuffs to put around a cut-down styrofoam cup to hold the dip.  Love my Big Shot...I find a way to include it in nearly everything I make!
Would you like a baby tin for a baby in your life?  contact me, I do work on consignment!

Folded note and gift card

Hi al
Today I want to share with you a cute double fold card that was tweaked from my upline, Sandy.  Much of my card is exactly like hers, but I did make a few minor changes, particularly on the inside.

Can you see that there are two lines of dry embossing using the texture impressions heart folder and the Big Shot (of course!)?  One is on the top flap and the other is across the bottom flap.
This cardstock is Island Indigo and the Pool Party ribbon is from the Saleabration (SAB) rewards program that is still going on now.  I love how Pool Party goes with Island Indigo!  It is probably my current favorite combo of colors.   There is a 2" hole punched at the top crease of the card and the Pool Party scalloped circle is attached to the back of the bottom section of the card so it sticks up through the hole.  A small strip of Designer Paper was attached to the front of the bottom flap of the card, just under the scallop punched edge - the DSP helps set off that scalloped edge.

When you open the two flaps you can see where the ribbon wrapped around the top flap, just beyond the hole and you can also see the back of the scalloped circle at the bottom of the card.  I added another strip of Pool Party cardstock to the center of the card so you wouldn't have to write on dark paper.  After 19 years working with the blind and visually impaired, I have a lot of respect for the factor of color contrast.  It is easier to write on lighter paper with blue or black ink.  Our white gel pen would work on the darker paper but not everyone has our pen (yet!).  Then I added one of our die cut envelopes to the bottom segment of the card so you could insert a gift card inside.  Fun, huh?
Contact me if I can help you input your Saleabration rewards order.  Don't delay, the program ends in a few short weeks.  This is the best time of year to replenish your supply of cardstock and inks...and earn a free gift at the same time.
Thanks, Madge for passing my name and contact info along to Patti.  I very much appreciate your confidence in me.
Hope to see yo'al soon at a class or workshop (here or in your home or work place).  You say your can buy now?   Hostess a workshop and let your friends help you earn hostess and SAB rewards.

Hi all
Hope you all are enjoying a pleasant Saturday.  Here, we were anticipating bad weather but, as happens so often in this area, the weather did not match the predictions.  I was glad the snow didn't come, although I know others were probably disappointed.
I got to enjoy a lovely afternoon with some fellow stampers at a workshop and came home with a lady interested in recruiting.  Is there anything more fun than having others join you in the activity you love?  I look forward to her exploring the fun of being a demo.  She is happy to have the starter kit for only $99 and getting to choose all the products in her kit.
Let me show you one of the projects the ladies did today - we tried to get the hostess' father in law to participate but he was concerned word would get out at his workplace that he had been stampin and he would be teased.  Silly guy!!  Even showing him the new "Dude, you're welcome" kit for guys did not convince him to play with us!
Of course, we have just passed Valentine's Day so the hostess asked for St. Patrick's Day and Easter projects instead.  Here is a fun Easter Card...
I had it in my head that I wanted to do a hole in the fence card so it seemed that the new Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder would be a great place to start.  After the gals ran the lucky limeade cardstock through the Big Shot, we used a light hand and brayed basic gray ink over the surface of the raised design.  We spritzed the back of the cardstock with water and then poked a hole and began to peel back the edges.  The water allowed us to handle the cardstock edges and once they were in position, we used the heat gun to dry the cardstock which set it in place.

The bunnies are actually stamped on the inside of the card.  These bunnies are one of the new single stamps available from Stampin' Up! - I chose to get this stamp because it seemed like a versatile stamp - can't  you imagine it being useful for Easter and for baby cards too?!  Love it.  This card will probably be in my next stampin class which I am planning now.  I have missed you all but my calendar has been a little crazy lately.  Come join me on Sunday, February 24th for some fun!!

Hi all
Today I thought I would show you the little treats I made for the staff at my two schools and for my fellow OT's.

I put the staff treats in their mailboxes but then I went to an OT meeting where there were no mailboxes, so I put them in this little mailbox and let them each take their own.
Here is the mailbox closed

This was such a simple treat yet many people commented to me about them.  Teachers love yummy goodies anytime!  Hope your sweetie treated you well today.  Mine did!!

Valentine Cards

Hi all
Gonna give you a quick look at another valentine card - tweaked from a card designed by my upline, Sandy.
I know you are probably laughing because once again, my card is busy with Big Shot products.  The background was made using the elegant lines textured impressions folder.  I also used the Fashionable Hearts embosslit (love that it gives texture and cuts at the same time.)  Lovely card, isn't it?
Hope your sweetie gives you a lovely Valentine greeting.....and if you want to persuade your guy to give you a hand-manly greeting, check out the new Dude, You're Welcome kit.  Fun!!  Great gift for him to show him how to join in the fun without losing that guy mystique!!

Valentine project

Hi all
Valentine's Day will be here in days!!  Have you created a card for your sweetie?
How about this one?
The cupid is a sizzix die cut.  Not a Stampn' Up! die but I really like it and of course it works in my Big Shot.  Used the Big Shot to add the Elegant Lines texture impressions on the white layer and to die cut the Rose Red layer.  Had to give cupid a gem to offer.  I think this is the first time I have used the Everything Eleanor stamp set.
Hope you are inspired to make a greeting for those you love!

Valentine treat

Hi all
You have been patient with me as I have been distracted by super bowl (Whoo Hoo, Ravens!!), progress reports, and the day to day issues of life!!  Sooo today I am sharing a multifaceted project we made at one of the Valentine classes.
This is the covered top of the note holder block.  An organdy ribbon is tied around the bottom of the metal piece that holds the note for you.   Thanks to Logan for suggesting we add the ribbon...just the right touch!
The block has four different sides that are all decorated differently.  Check it out....
The DSP used to cover the box on all four sides is Twitterpated.  We stamped "You are" and "Fabulous" and the frame using Riding Hood Red and Island Indigo ink and we cut out the two using Framelits.

Next, we used a window framelit of textured, island indigo cardstock and layered the wings, heart and banner on top.  This picture also shows you a good view of the metal note holder.
The third side says "Sweet Friend"  in Riding Hood Red ink and the fleur de lis is in Regal Rose ink and that is all layered on the Ricing Hood Red cardstock.

Finally the last face of the box shows the greeting from "You are Loved".  I had the gals use white embossing powder on the Island Indigo cardstock - it is meant to me a step off the chalkboard craze in stamping.  Black just wouldn't have fit here but the Island Indigo is perfect.
Hope it has inspired you to make a sweet project for your valentine!!  And that  you are checking out the wonderful Stampin' Up! specials on my Stampin' Up! blog

Hi all
Quiet day today ... saving energy for tomorrow!!  Cannot wait for the RAVENS to win the Super Bowl!!
Today I thought I would finally post some of the pictures of the Christmas gifts I made with my new sewing machine.

I have to thank the ladies of a local church for this idea.  One of the ladies gave me a similar item after I did a Stampin project with them at their ladies Christmas breakfast.  Now her container was quite special because it had a handle.  I didn't think my container needed a handle since I intended to put cocktail napkins in side instead of the Christmas garland and ornaments the church ladies used.  It is easier to make with out the handle!!  Of course, this is all Stampin' Up! fabric.  I took advantage of the sale price in the on line Clearance rack.  Do you ever check out the Clearance Rack?
In addition to taking advantage of the clearance rack, you might also want to see the MANY specials that are being offered by Stampin' Up1 right now.
There is:
Sale a bration - which lasts until March 22nd.   You get to choose one free item for each $50 (subtotal) you spend.  There are additional rewards for hostessing during SAB.
Dude, You're Welcome!   is a special new kit (includes 4 wood mount stamps, 12-4"x 6" post cards, 12 envelopes, a Basic Gray stamp pad, and a instructional guide) meant especially for the men in your life.  Give them a kit made just for guys to help them stamp up the perfect greeting for you!!
There are two Assortments of single stamps now available...#3 and #4.  There are five items in each assortment.
Stampin' Up! is celebrating 25 years in business by creating a special "Best of" stamp set each month for the whole year.  The sets are made up of a collection of favorite old retired images and one new image.  So far, we have seen the sets for January and February.   These sets will be available until April 30, 2014  AND for each six "Best of" sets you purchase from this collection, you will earn a free stamp set of your choice valued up to $14.95 .. BUT you have to collect a special sticker from the "Best of"  tamp sets to redeem the free set.   Contact me for details.
And remember to check your calendar for a convenient date for your Salebration workshop.
