I will be holding a halloween stampin session on Sunday October 4th at 2 PM - deadline to sign up is Wednesday Sept 30th. Materials fee is $20. You must pre-register.

My Holiday Stamp a Stack, part two, sessions are Saturday, Oct 10 at 1PM and Sunday, Oct 11 at 2PM. The Sunday session is nearly full. The materials fee for each class is $25 for 20 cards (4 each of 5 designs). Registration deadlines are Oct 6 for both classes.

Hi all
Tonight I am sharing with you a little baby shower favor I have made for some coworkers. There are four all together - this is the first one. I used a Jumbo Accucut die to cut the box, the scallop circle die to cut the ends of the cradle, the angel wheel was rolled on the sides of the box, and then the cow was made using directions from Julia Bettencourt's blog. Isn't this cute? It uses the five petal flower punch (ears), the small oval punch (snout), and the tab punch for the head. Fun.

Hi all,
This was not a Christmas card class but I wanted to share this lovely card, which was tweaked from one by Paula Goff, with my gals. The poinsettias were made from the five petal flower punch, as were the leaves. Because of the scoring down each petal of the flowers, they take on lovely dimension. Hope you enjoy this one.

Hi all
This is one of my personal favorites from last Sunday's stampin sessions. It shows some lovely little elements that make this card special such as the ribbon threaded button, the double layered eyelet scallop and my favorite tag - the double layered modern label punch and mover and shaper. We colored the flower petals with watercolor crayons. Pretty, huh?

Hi all
This is really a Big Shot project - the swirly stem is a long sizzix die cut, the flower on the left side is a birds and blooms sizzlit die cut and the middle flower is a die cut from the Birds with Leaves die. Of course, the flower on the right end is the five petal flower punch and the flower centers were from the Boho Blossom punch. There are buttons and a brad to add to the dimension of the card, as well as the lovely white hardware and knotted ribbon. Do you ever create a project after seeing one on myblog..if so, please share it with me, I'd love to post it on here. Thanks to Andrea Walford for the inspiration here.

Hi all

From time to time I like to make cards that measure 3 x 6" as these cards fit so nicely into a regular bill paying envelope. I especially enjoy some of the stampin gimmicks on this card - the distressed edge on the stamped oval, the staples forming the x on the ribbon and the use of different but related DSP. This card was inspired by one from from Angie Tieman. Enjoy!

Hi all

This card showcases some nifty tools. First, the base card used the Perfect Details Texturz plate and Big Shot. The top layer used half of a piece cut from the large clear scallop square die. The oval layers were made with the oval punch and the scallop oval punch, and I corner rounded two corners of the dusty durango layer. The pheasant was colored by applying markers directly to the stamp but I had first stamped the pheasant on the card front in chocolate chip - so the legs you see are stamped on the card - the ones on the raised body were excluded. Enjoy!!

Hi all,
Sorry I missed yo'al yesterday. It's officially marching band season! John had his first competition of this year and they sounded great!!!! They placed second which, to a 16 year old, is disappointing. But to me, a mom, they were terrific! I always tear up when I see my son zooming all over the field in formation while striking his drum. This is John's joy and pleasure...mine, too.

This is the first of eight cards we did today in my stampin' session. The gals made the card ..and will color the image at their discretion. They can leave it plain, or use colored pencils, watercolor pencils, markers, or pastels/chalks. This is a simple template that we used on three cards, great for when you need a quick card.

Hi all
The details of this nifty card might be hard to discern from this picture ...the cover of the card includes a segment of clear acetate that allows you to see Santa's sleigh through the front of the card. The sleigh is actually stamped on the inside of the card. Cool!
I spend my days working with kids with fine and visual motor difficulties but this card showed me you can trick adults too. Why? Because according to the index, the correct way to mount the Santa stamp on the wood block puts him at a climbing angle. But to get him to fit in the space available for the acetate window, the gals had to hit the paper with the stamp rotated on an odd angle - some of them were very uncomfortable NOT squaring the stamp up with the cardstock - I tried to help by putting masking tape on the top of the block with a line drawn to line up with the flap of the card but alas, they were still uncomfortable with the angle. But everyone manage to eventually get santa stamped and this was some of the ladies favorite card. Thanks to Dawn for the idea of having a acetate segment on the cover.

Hi all
Sorry to be so late posting tonight...it has been a very busy week at work and at home.
I think it is safe to say that all of the gals loved this card. The red cardstock was put through the big shot with an impressions die and the center of each flower was highlighted with a white gel pen. The greeting is from the new hostess set. Love it...monochromatic and fast! Remember when you put your impressions folders through the Big Shot, spritz the cardstock with water first and you will get a nice deep impression!

I wanted to mention today that a key point in making a large number of the same card (such as for convention trades and holiday greeting cards) is to make the assembly simple. This card uses DSP layered on the base white card - and yes it is retired DSP. The white layer was stamped in gold encore ink - I also used a gold paint pen to edge that piece (sorry Donna, but I love the way that edging sets off the layer.) The ornament was stamped on a separate piece of cardstock and then was popped out with the new ornament punch using dimensionals. The label was die cut from the matchbox die and Big Shot and it is also edges in gold. The gals positioned the brads using the order form edge to align the holes evenly. Great card - I have seen several variations on this idea several places.

Hi all,
I really like this card but I suspect it will not appeal to everyone. It has an old feel to it and the muted colors make me think it would be great for a guy. To make the layers under the nutcracker, I cut two scallop circles with my Big Shot and then I cut each in half. BUT - I cut one in half from the low point of the scallop to the low point of the scallop on the opposite side. The second one was cut from the high point of the scallop to the high point of the scallop. When the two were layered it showed the bottom layer was a bit offset. I like it! Do you?

Hi all
Tonight I am sharing the first of the five holiday cards the ladies made on Sunday. This card was inspired by one I saw on Dawn's website, but as usual, I put my own spin on it a bit. When you look at the card front you see the holly jolly words which are actually mounted on the inside of the card. The piece with the holes was made using the eyelet border punch on all four sides of a square piece of cardstock. This card has lots of glitter which never seems to show up well in my pictures. The narrow "frame" on the card front was what was left after the piece with the holes was punched out. I thought it was too neat to trash so it showed up on the card front. Hope you like it as much as my gals did. We had a nice time with some familiar faces coming back after a short vacation from classes and some young faces returning. Special highlight of the day was a quick "happy birthday" for Peggy D and Terry. Best wishes, gals.

Last, but not at all, the least, viola! The final project from the Sept 6th stampin session. I am not even going to tell you where the inspiration for this card came from because this card does not resemble that card in any way, shape or form!!! It is scary how my mind works sometimes!! This card is really quite gorgeous. We used watercolor crayons and an aqua painter to color the flowers, both the 3D ones and the ones on the vanilla in the background. The 3D bow and the vanilla hardware make this card reach out like a table display. I love it!!

This card is a case of one done by Gretchen Barron - you have heard me mention her before. A fabulous stamper!
What I really like about this card (now) is that is goes together fairly quickly - the longest part was hand cutting the butterflies! It was those in flight butterflies that initially caught my eye! Of course, the saffron layer was run through the Big Shot using a texture folder - gorgeous! The words were stamped and then punched out using a curly label punch. Alas, I do not have the curly label mover and shaper die ('cuz I bought the #1 horizontal card die BEFORE SU! started carrying it along with the curly label die- waaa!!! But!!!! Yea!!! the curly label punch layers VERY nicely on the new mover and shaper holiday window dies from the fabulous new mini - a great alternative!! Don;t you love the way the celery, saffron and elegant eggplant go together?!?!

Hi all
This card was inspired by one I received from Amy Cloncs at a previous convention. I changed the stamp set to Eastern Blooms and the colors (to sage, black and coral). I used that stamp set so I could use that large flower at the top instead of the punched five star flower Amy used. I added crystal effects and mini gold beads to the center of the flower to add a focal point of interest and some texture. Let's face it, this card is just pretty!!

Hi all
Okay, now I truly admire clever people, and the gal (I saw the idea on Ellen Kemper's website) that came up with this idea (the fish) is one clever gal!!! Why? What is so clever about a fish?? She used the ornament punch to make the fish!!! Gotta love that!!!!! The top and bottom fins are a modern lable punch and the middle fin is a circle with one side trimmed using the modern lable punch. Cute cute cute!!!
Now Peggy (my latest recruit, Hi Peg!) is in BIG trouble with Terry (my next to latest recruit, Hi Terry at the beach! lucky!) because Terry had to use a brayer on this card and Peggy was not there for moral support. These two gals are confronting their stampin' phobias one by one - first it was the stamp-a-ma-jig and now it is the brayer!! spiders I could understand, but a brayer? Come on!!! Sorry, just kidding! ANYWAY, the horizontal wiggly lines were put on by placing rubber bands around the brayer head, inking and rolling across the cardstock. Then we used a sponge on the spaces around the lines. The fish hook was made from a Christmas ornament hanger which I happened to have on hand. (There is no end to the interesting little things I have hanging around!) Ellen made her fish Dory from the Nemo movie. Cute!

Hi all,
This card is another quickie. Originally it was inspired by one a stamper made, trying to show how to use a movers and shapers die to die cut only one side of the image (in this case, the heart). But I gotta tell you, for me, it was just way easier to die cut the heart from scrap cardstock, then lay the heart in the center of the cardfront, and score above and below the heart to mark the center of the cardfront. Then I used a craft knife and cut around only the right side of the the heart. To create the razzleberry heart, I die cut another heart using the mover and shaper and then trimmed a bit all around the heart. I punched out the heart using the hand held heart punch. Viola ...three layers! the ribbon is only wrapped around the right side of the card front which is folded to the left. Nice!

Hi all
When we did the Cards for Heroes session, I encouraged the ladies to set aside any cards that they particularly liked, so that I could use them as inspiration for upcoming classes. This card is very similar to one of the cards a stamper set aside. Unfortunately, I did not get the original artist's name before the card base was attached so we can send off the card to Cards for Heroes. The DSP is different and the background stamp is also different. I really liked the way the artist folded down the top of the cardstock over the stamped image, with the ribbons tied around it. The white cardstock is glossy - I don't usually use glossy, unless the technique calls for it specifically. The beauty of this card is that this format could be used with any of the stamps in the set (Fun and Fast Notes) because all of the stamps are the same size. If you are looking for a quick present, get this stamp set or one like it, a collection of designer series papers (DSP) and matching colored cardstock, and you are off and running to create a set of different but similar cards. Viola!

Hi all
Introducing another set of projects from a recent stampin session.
I borrowed some aspects of the layout from one I saw on Jenn Diercks website. I also used a three dimensional medallion, although hers was bigger and poofier. In real life, my card has lots of dimension in all three of the main elements. I was excited to see how nicely the scallop square punch layers with the mover and shaper diecut. Sometimes you have a large image that you want to use but it is just too large to balance the composition. By using only half of the image you can achieve better balance, and still get to use a favorite image. Lots of punches in this project!!

082909 Big you, little me, final project

Hi all
This is the card the older girls made when Jordyn did her little sponged cupcake. It is hard to tell from this photo but when you open the card, the cupcake inside pops up - the girls really enjoyed that!! I think they were surprised how easy that was to do! We used white liquid applique on the cupcakes to give them that realistic look! I found the front of this card on the Stamper's Showcase of the demonstrator side of the Stampin Up! website. It was made by Mindy Fischer though I used some similar but not identical elements. This was a fun stampin session for sure!

082909 Big you, little me project #4

Hi all
Introducing my Build a Bear girlfriend!! Isn't she dear? She was die cut with my Big Shot and camel colored felt which was backed with fusible interfacing which I had ironed onto the back of the felt before die cuttin. Then you remove the backing paper and iron her onto the canvas tote. Next, the gals attached the clothing which had also been die cut (also backed with fusible interfacing). Finally, I die cut the initial of the gal to be attached to the bag as well. We inserted gold brad earrings and attached half round plastic beads as eyes using crystal effects. Viola! The cute little bag was the perfect size for the girls to carry home their cards and their "hand stamped by" stamp. Fun!

Hi all - this card was my attempt to make a merry - go - round. Now my husband said he would not have known that was what it was if I had not told him. When stamper (and one of my downline) Terry arrived, she said, "Oh look at the merry go round" so I choose to think Terry is an art genius, and my husband, not so much! Which group are you in? This is my first card using Animal Stories. I am a BIG fan of solid stamps. So quick!

Isn't this a fun little card?? The girls (both adult and children) all professed to love butterflies so this card was a shoo in!! I found a similar card on the demonstrator side of the Stampin' Up! website in the Stampers Showcase by Marion Swaim. This was a great card to show the kids how to use a stamp to create a background. Love it!

082909 Big you, little me project #1

Hi all
Today I want you to see the cute little card I made for our five year old stampin session participant. By using a series of post it notes for masks, Jordyn was able to sponge each part of the cupcake without fear of ooopsing. Then her adult helper, JeeJee (sorry, I probably spelled that incorretly!) cut out the cupcake, leaving the bottom intact as the hinge of the card. The stars are attached using crystal effects. The older girls at the class made a different card that seemed too taxing for a five year old. Jordyn did a great job!!
