crop treat 2-28-09

Hi all!
Tonight I am sharing the make and take project that the croppers will be invited to make tomorrow at St. John's Church crop. Of course, I had to use my Big Shot and Top Note die because they is so versatile. Earlier tonight I visited a website, the lady has "Pooh" in her address and some of you know how much of a Pooh freak I am (sorry I am on my other computer so I can't look up her addy now) but anyway, she used these die cuts on scrapbook pages - really great work! I also thought it might be fun if the cropping ladies could use the free Sale-a-bration sets, Polka Dot Punches and Yummy. Of course the ladies will use the scallop circle punch and the five petal punch to cut out the images. I am a BIG recycler so I am using last years In Color cardstock and inks so I can put them to good use. I love Groovy Guava. I was given a ton of business envelopes at work this week (One of the big office supply stores donated them to us and we were permitted to take some home) so I used the old standby bag-a lope with my die cuts to make them into pouches. The ladies will get a few candies to go inside. Well, gotta go load up the car with all my goodies. Nighty night, Peggy

the cupcakes are back!!

Hi all,
Well here we are again with yet one more cupcake card. This card doesn't have the bling added to the icing or the flame but it will when the gals make this card at my stampin session on Sunday.
Are you curious about how Jack's family reacted to the tin? Check out the comment added to the post - his grandma emailed me at work so I added her comment with the picture of the tin.
I showed my "tins" book - pictures of all the tins I have made for children/babies - to a new coworker. She gave me some ideas that are take offs on the original idea...you could see those ideas become real in the near future.

Blogging interrupted!

Hi all!!
Just a quick note to say sorry! but blogging is interrupted by life - tonight was John's high school band concert (it was great!) and then some IEP and report writing for a team tomorrow. Now it is too late (or should I say too early!) to play in my stampin room.
Hope you will join us to play on Sunday - cakes and cupcakes class.

Jack's baby tin - final

Hi all, Well tonight I am posting the final pictures of the baby tin I made for Jack, grandson of a coworker. The idea is to use the pen hanging from one side of the handle to write on the tags hanging from the other side of the handle to record those precious moments that occur in the baby's life. By writing the date and a brief comment, the mom can capture that important data that she will want to refer to later ...maybe to help her scrapbook. That's all for tonight..are you glad there were no cupcakes tonight??

one cupcake at a time

Hi all,
Thanks to those of you who have emailed me comments when you couldn't manage google. I appreciate knowing you are enjoying my work. Tonight I have another installment of my cake and cupcake run. I really love the curly label punch and hope to get the Sizzix/Stampin' Up! die cut version but for now I used the hand held curly label punch. I love the way it frames this cupcake which was colored using markers. The element of the white peaking out the right side is special I think. This is on the agenda for my stampin session in Perry Hall on Sunday! Hope you decide to join us - remember to register by Thursday. Nighty Night

more ..more ..cupcakes!!

Hi all!
Tonight I'm posting a sweet little card using the top note die cut - I love using my die cutter! The picture is a bit light so you might not notice the little birthday cake below the words "your day". There is Stickles glitter glue on the balloons and the cake to give it a bit of bling. The polka dot balloon was done with designer series paper and is attached with a dimensional. Those stampers who come to my stampin session on Sunday March 1st will be making this card. Hope you plan to join us.
As always, you are encouraged to leave a comment...or contact me at david.outen@verizon.net

Hi all
Tonight I have another card from the cake/cupcakes class which will be held again in March...stay tuned for an announcement about the date and time.
The cupcakes are embossed in black ep and colored with markers. The DSP is some of the retired DSP Love Me and the ribbon is the retired pink gingham. The dark layer under the Regal Rose is Chocolate Chip. The base card is taken with teal. Notice the party blowers in the background? The cake stand is bordering blue.
I have many retired DSP packs and Scrappin kits. If there is any one in particular you are looking for, just contact me.

Would love to hear your comments...please post!

Fifth Avenue Floral

Hi all,
I sure hope you can see this card because the colors really work well together - Night of Navy, Sage Shadow and Pretty in Pink.
Well, as I expected, it was a busy night - I kept my late afternoon appointment, met my friend for dinner, and went to visit our friend who recently had a stroke. We had a great visit and we are so pleased to see her progress a bit every day. Came home to make this little project for yo'al and to help my son tackle some challenging school work. Geez, I am so keyed up now I probably won't sleep! I need my sleep! Glad tomorrow is Friday ...oooooo- and a long weekend at that!! yee ha!

all work, no play!

Hi all!! Well tonight I have no picture to post - BUT! that is a good thing! - tonight I have shown WILL POWER!! I arrived home to a nice big box of all kinds of new goodies from Stampin' Up! - pretty papers, fun punches, stamps, stamps, stamps, a Big Shot die, and flower brads. But I had to do school work tonight and, believe me, it took LOTS of WILL POWER to stay on task, and finish my report writing instead of playing with my new toys. I only let myself unpack the box then back to work. Tomorrow night I have an early meeting, then I plan to visit my friend at the rehab center. I expect to be back home in time to whip up a new project with my goodies. Check it out tomorrow night and see if I get it all done.
Remember I need to hear from you by Friday dinner time if you plan on attending my stampin session on Sunday to make 8 projects or Monday to make 4 projects- five of the eight projects have already been shown here.

Valentine Pillow Box

Hi all,
Tonight I have a pillow box to show you. The box was cut with a Big Shot die using Candy Lane DSP. The flap is Riding Hood Red. I love the punched edge of the red flap using the eyelet border punch. This is a tiny box that could easily hold a sweet love note, an EXPENSIVE piece of jewelry (tee hee!) or some chocolate! A touch of Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon completes the project.
Hope you like it!!

Buzzin by...

Hi all

Quick post tonight to share my card. I think these little bees are so sweet! I used the top note die cut, DSP from the hostess pack, a die cut banner for the greeting, 1" and 1 1/4" circle punches, markers, staz on black and really rust pads; black, yo yo yellow, and whisper white c/s; sponge; antique brass jumbo eyelet, retired organdy ribbon and black gingham ribbon. And yes...this is one of the cards we will do at the stampin' session on Sunday, 15th. Join us in Perry Hall!

Bloom time

Hi all!!
I'm late getting around to stampin' today because I finally got the opportunity to visit with my dear friend of 30+ years who recently had a stroke. I am so happy that she is finally out of ICU and into rehab so I had to get in to see her. My stampers were kind enough to let me postpone my stampin session - the gals are great - they knew how worried I have been. It was great to see her and to let her know we all are ready to do whatever it takes to get her to her very best. I felt a little sorry for her occupational therapist who was there when I arrived. MS, my friend, is an OT, I'm and OT, another OT called while we were visiting and yet another OT joined us to visit also. I don't think we have seen so many OTs in one place since the last staff meeting of the county OTs. We are used to being small in numbers and relatively "background" folk. OT power! (oops! my 1960's are showing!)
This card uses pacific point c/s and ink, and apricot appeal DSP, c/s and ink. Several punches of course, and the blue scallop was punched with the Bigz pennant die and my Big Shot. Had to use one of those lovely filigree brads and a touch of glitter bling on the flowers at the bottom - can you guess how I got the glitter to stick?
Yep! this will be one of the projects for the stampin session on Sunday and Monday...join us!
Nighty night, gals!

One of a kind tree

Hi all!
Tonight I have a sweet little card to share made using the new Trendy Trees stamp set with a greeting from One of a Kind. I took the picture on an odd angle in hopes that you could see the Backgrounds I texturz plate (for the Big Shot) impression on the card base. The c/s and ink colors are Always Artichoke and Kiwi Kiss. Of course I had to use the scallop edge punch! This is one of the projects my gals will do at the stampin sessions on Sunday and Monday (15th and 16th).

Busy Stamper Project #1

Hi all!
Whoo hoo for Friday!! After a stressful week at work, I sure enjoyed retreating to my stampin' room tonight to play! I made two projects for my Feb 15 and 16 stamping sessions. This project was inspired by a posting on the demonstrator side of the Stampin' Up! website. Did you know that each day Stampin' Up! posts projects to inspire us demonstators - some are made by staff but others are submitted by demonstrators. I even had one posted a while back - that was fun! Stampin' Up! is currently offering a special price on the demonstrator starter kit and you also get to choose an extra stamp set. Wouldn't you like to cut the cost of every one of your Stampin' Up! purchases by 20% or more? Join me now as a demonstrator and you could be checking out 4-6 new projects every day, viewing techniques training videos and getting the benefit of other stamper's skills and experience.
A lady named Janet posted a card using the four square format and it really caught my eye so I thought I would try it using the new Petal Pizzazz stamp set. I used Baja Breeze and Pacific Point inks and c/s. Notice the plain silver brads and one (bottom right) circle ice rhinestone brad. Finally, I threw in a few retired ribbons. I love the greeting - don't we all enjoy the idea of more kindness in our lives? If you are in the Baltimore County area, please join me for one of my upcoming stampin sessions. This time I am offering a class on Sunday including eight projects - or you can attend on Monday night to make only four of the projects. Want details? Contact me!
Tomorrow I hope to finish up a few more projects so visit me again soon!

More info on purse

Hi all!
I have had some questions about my gift certificate purses from the other day. The pattern is actually from a coluzzle template, so the cut out for the handle was a mere ride of the knife in the channel. Because it is coluzzle, there are several nested sizes of purses so you can pick the size that fits your need. No doubt you noticed the large brad decor clasp - but there is also one of those snap magnets to keep the purse closed.
Thanks for your questions. Sorry I don't have more to post tonight...After a nearly four hour team and then physical therapy after work, I have been exhausted tonight. I just woke up!!! Now I have to go do some work for school! Torrow I will play with my stamps again!!

Peggy

thanks!!!

Hi all!!
Okay, this little post doesn't include much stampin' but hey! I had two IEP's to finish writing tonight and several progress reports - I cannot WAIT until those are done! Sure hope the parents read them..you never know!!
This is a mini thank you to a coworker who passed my stampin' business card along to a friend. Filled with a few sugar free treats (I know she is consciencious about her weight). I used the One Smart Cookie stamp set, die cut pillow box, the curly label punch to make the hole, some clear plastic to cover the window, the scallop punch, trio flower punch and the retired spring bouquet punch. I love my punches! A little gold cord, some sponging, and a mini brad.

gift certificates

Hi all,

Tonight I wanted to show you two gift cards I made when someone wanted to give a stamper a gift certificate for Stampin' Up! products. Included in the card is a smaller card that lists the value of the card and how the stamper can contact me to redeem the gift. Do you have a friend or relative who would love to receive this fun gift for a birthday or Valentine's day? Contact me and I will design a special card to hold your gift. Or maybe you want to drop a hint to your sweetie that a Stampin' Up! gift certificate is the most romantic gift for you. You can tell your sweetie how to contact me, or contact me yourself and I will tell your sweetie what you are wishing for! Remember, during Sale-a-bration (Feb 1 thru the end of March) you get more bang for your buck with the choice of a free stamp set, ribbon, or designer paper with a $50 purchase. If you place that order online through my Stampin Up! website you could get a free catalog too. Nighty night

Baby shower sailboat favors

Hi all
Well, no real stamping happening here today - it is the end of the first semester and I have tons of progress reports to finish for the kids on my caseload. Couldn't allow myself to be tempted to play with all my new goodies that arrived on Thursday. Waaaa!
I thought I would share with you a fun little project that I did for a co-workers baby shower. She decorated her baby's nursery in Nautica stuff so I made these sweet little sailboats out of the small pennant die and some retired DSP. The blue cardstock at the bottom of this boat is wrapped around a packet of tic tacs. The small white strips attaching the sail to the boat are on both sides and are made from the left over strips from some lazer printer label sheets. Putting a strip on both sides made them stiff enough to keep the sail erect. Cute, huh? Nighty night
